Hi!
We probably need a new map for the possible multiplayer experiment things. This topic is about designing it and later actually modeling it. I really don't want to be the only one to work on this, so feel free to submit your work and ideas here. I'll also create a shared folder to some cloud service.

Since we have good(ish) car physics, why not start with racing?

It could be an island with highways and stuff. Something what you see in JC3 (maybe not Italian theme).

This is Bayview, the city from NFS Undergoud 2. It's far from a realistic city, but really fun to drive.

Any opinions or more ideas where to start?

My favorite racing game is Flatout UC, so would be cool to have a map like this:

And also some offroad parts, with maybe another car with great suspensions

If also a FPS multiplayer map, i suggest a map like Nuketown:

I can help with anything, 3d modeling, textures, and so on.. :)

Suburb, that rain canal thing and secret shortcuts. That reminds me of NFSMW and Carbon.
Also, do those breakables work as "traps" that slow others down? That'd be cool.

I think we're gonna go with that city theme and start with one track.

I currently have access just to my potato laptop, which says it has "some" Intel inside.
Until I get home and to my desktop this will be in planning stage (not saying no one else could start modelling ;D)

I'm in a small city now (large-ish on Finnish scale). It's a small concrete jungle in the middle of nowhere. Any opinions on this kind of map? It sure is something different, but could also be intresting.

You don't need to know how to code. Actually you don't need to know about pretty much anything. You can download 3DS Max demo or get free student license. The basics of Max are pretty simple and all the buildings are going to be simple shapes first. Or use Blender or something. I'll see how can I export the .max projects to some usable format for other programs.

As update to the project I'll try to get some things done and order the final parts to get my desktop working as soon as possible so I can finally start actually working on this.

Oh, and if you have made any textures (anything that you have copyrights for) that could be used in this project, PM me. I have a tiny (yet it is really tiny) texture library on my hard drive. I've been slowly expanding it and will share for projects like this.
