License
The source code and scripts of the Grit Game Engine project are open source and licensed for re-use under the MIT License. This means the original copyright notice must be preserved in all source files. We are certainly appreciative of any bug reports, fixes, patches, etc. that are fed back into the Grit community but we do not require this.
Some textures, meshes, and other artistic assets in our example content have been used from other sources and are not original content whose copyright is owned by the Grit Game Engine project. As such these files may be under license to us, in which case the original copyright holder and license will be documented in a file called copyright.txt in the same directory. This is typical for textures sourced from online texture warehouses, who allow their textures to be used without charge, subject to specific terms and conditions and do not allow re-licensing under the MIT license.
For more information on the copyright and license status of various works in the project, see the wiki page.
